Eye First Eyecare - Downtown Office
About
Eye First Eyecare occupies a distinctive and convenient position in downtown Toronto's optometry landscape: located in the Main Floor Atrium of Toronto Western Hospital at 399 Bathurst Street, it is the only optometry practice embedded within one of the city's major teaching hospitals. This setting naturally attracts patients managing more complex ocular health needs alongside their other medical care, and the clinic's service scope reflects that — with a strong emphasis on low vision assessment and rehabilitation that most neighbourhood optometrists don't offer at all. Services include comprehensive eye exams, visual skills assessment and rehabilitation for binocular vision and visual perception issues, diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes-related eye disease, age-related macular degeneration, and dry eye, low vision assessments and rehabilitation for patients with conditions including stroke, glaucoma, and retinitis pigmentosa, and contact lens fittings spanning soft, rigid gas permeable, hybrid, and scleral lenses. Pre- and post-operative care for LASIK and cataract surgeries is also available. The Bathurst Street location is served by the TTC 511 Bathurst streetcar and is a short walk from Bathurst station on Line 2.
