About

Founded on a commitment to equity, TAIBU Community Health Centre has served the Black community across the Greater Toronto Area for more than 16 years, with its primary location in the Malvern neighbourhood of Scarborough. TAIBU operates from an Afrocentric model of care, offering primary health services delivered by an inter-professional team that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, dietitians, social workers, chiropodists, and a Diabetes Education Program — all grounded in cultural humility and health equity. Beyond clinical care, TAIBU runs a rich constellation of community programs including the AYA Circle of Care for Black communities affected by HIV, the Toronto Community Crisis Service, and a range of youth, seniors, and Francophone health initiatives. The centre has received four-year accreditation from the Canadian Centre for Accreditation and is recognized across the GTA for its leadership in reducing systemic barriers to healthcare. TAIBU is open Monday through Friday with extended Tuesday and Thursday evening hours, and serves all residents of the Malvern neighbourhood alongside its priority Black community population across the city.
