AccessPoint on Jane
About
On Jane Street north of St. Clair in the former borough of York, AccessPoint on Jane operates as a vital community health centre under Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services. Built specifically to serve immigrants, refugees, and newcomers to Canada, the clinic provides culturally sensitive, language-accessible healthcare to communities that often face the greatest barriers to accessing medical services. With interpretation services available for all primary care clients, it functions as a true safety-net provider for the diverse neighbourhoods along the Jane corridor. The centre's primary health care team is unusually comprehensive, bringing together physicians, nurse practitioners, community health nurses, registered practical nurses, certified diabetes educators, registered dietitians, registered social workers and therapists, a physiotherapist, and an occupational therapist. Mental health support is available on-site, with psychiatry services accessed through the Toronto Urban Health Alliance. The clinic also runs a dedicated Non-Insured Walk-In Clinic for patients without health insurance or OHIP coverage, ensuring that lack of status does not mean lack of care. Beyond clinical services, clients can access settlement services, youth and seniors programs, food programs, nutrition workshops, and the Among Friends 2SLGBTQI+ initiative. Located at 761 Jane Street, 2nd Floor, the clinic is easily accessible by TTC bus routes along Jane Street. Office hours run Monday and Thursday from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM, Tuesday and Friday from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, with Saturday and Sunday closed. AccessPoint on Jane is actively accepting new patients. For anyone in the York area seeking comprehensive, community-rooted healthcare that goes well beyond a standard family practice, AccessPoint on Jane is an exceptional resource.
