About

Since 2009, West End Midwives has grown into one of Toronto's most trusted midwifery practices, with a team of 20 midwives supporting birthing parents through every stage of pregnancy, labour, and the six weeks postpartum. Located at 1275 Finch Avenue West in North York and serving primarily the Rexdale, Etobicoke, and west Toronto communities, the clinic offers fully OHIP-covered midwifery care at no cost to patients. Families without a valid health card are encouraged to call — the clinic may still be able to help. West End Midwives supports birth in the hospital (William Osler Etobicoke General and Humber River Hospital) or at home, according to client preference. The team works in small groups to ensure continuity — meaning clients will know and trust the midwife present at their birth. Prenatal care includes thorough monthly and then bi-weekly visits, lab work, ultrasounds, and genetic screening. The practice operates with deep commitments to inclusivity, cultural humility, and social justice, with midwives who speak English, Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Farsi, Punjabi, Gujarati, and Hindi.
